I'll be teaching you how to make an icon today
.It's quite easily, first of all you should have BYOND install onto your computer.I shall explain in steps after that.
Step 1

Open up your dream maker program that comes with the BYOND package,in the BYOND folder.
Step 2

After the program has been open,go to the top left and press new enviroment,this is where all the icons are going to be store,in addition you can view them without going back to the folder and double clicking them.
Continue and press okay to finish making the enviroment.After you make a the enviroment's setting, a second box will pop up.Asking if you want to make a new code file.Change from "Code.dm" to "Icon.dmi"
Name it whatever you feel like.I named my PacMan.
Step 3

Now it should lead you to a screen that looks like this:
The Pallete that's circled in red,will bring you to an area that allow you to edit an icon up close.The Movie Camera allows you to animate your icon and use it in icon games
.Press the Pallete.
The Pallet allows you to edit and make an icon up close(It would be quite hard to make an icon that's tiny in size.Use you artistic flair and create some icon!
In my example I created a pac man.
After you're done press the gray arrow to go back.
And you completed one fram of icon
.You would be complete if that's all you need to display.But if you want the icon to move and have ups and down,press the camera.The camera will lead you to an area much like this
Frames:Squared in green increase the amount of motion that you're icon is going to move.
Dirs:Squared in blue determines how many direction your icon can face,normally it's 4, up,down,left,right.
Rewind:Rewinds the motion instead of starting over the motion again.
Delay:Determines how much seconds has pass before a new frame is shown.
And so I make my icon!
If you double click on the icon,just below the image,you can name it.
And that's when in Icon Tales you can change icon state, so you don't have to make seperate files for seperate icons!
